This conversation is to know more about what the president of the AASPT does, how the AASPT engages with ECPs, provide ways that ECPs can become more involved, and generally give an overview of the resources of both the AASPT and the ECP SIG.
Session objectives: Inform ECPs of how they can be involved in the ECP SIG and AASPT; Encourage ECP engagement in the ECP SIG and AASPT; Increase awareness of ECP and AASPT resources.
Dr. Reinold is the president-elect of the AASPT, but he is so much more. As one of the most prominent names and faces in sports medicine, Dr. Reinold is a dual credentialed PT/AT, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and a performance enhancement specialist while being the co-founder and president of Champion Physical Therapy and Performance in the greater Boston area. He is also the Senior Medical Advisor to the Chicago White Sox and Director of Baseball Performance at Northeastern University, where he began his PT journey. He has trained under renowned medical professionals such as Kevin Wilk and Dr. Andrews. Over the years he has earned numerous career awards, most notably the New Horizons Award in 2004 by what is now the AASPT, and the ASMI Career Service award in 2019. Outside of his own research publications, books, and practice, Dr. Reinold continues to educate others through his online courses and his Ask Mike Reinold Show, both of which are accessible on the mikereinold.com website.
